Dinosaur School
Our current emphasis in Dinosaur School is on teaching children how to make friends and be cooperative with friends, teachers, and parents. We are practicing social skills such as using polite words, waiting for a turn, sharing, positive play skills, asking to join in, staying calm, helping others, and being a good team player. Try these activities at home to help promote these skills:
- Set up play dates for your child and praise your child for helping and sharing with his/her friend.
- Model friendly behaviors for your child such as asking politely to play or for a turn, waiting, asking for help, and giving a compliment.
- Ask your child to help you with some household activity and praise your child for his/her help.
Do a teamwork activity with your child such as a cooking project, setting the table, or cleaning a room.
